What is the test checking with my sperm?
A semen analysis is conducted to test a man's semen count (concentration), moving semen (motility), normally shaped semen (morphology), and other parameters. One of the most important factors in achieving a pregnancy is the number of motile semen in the sample. Semen cells need to move forward to reach the egg during natural conception. If the semen cannot swim to the egg, natural pregnancy is not possible.

Your test kit includes the following items:

How should I prepare for the test?
- Register in the Patient Portal before collecting your sample.
- Plan to collect and ship your sample only on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday.
- Place the cold pack in the freezer before collection.
- Store the Pink Preservation Solution in the refrigerator and remove it 1 hour before use.
How does the testing process work?
It’s simple! Order your kit, follow the easy instructions to collect your sample, return it using the prepaid label, and receive your results in as little as 72 hours.
How is my privacy protected?

Is this the same semen analysis I would get at a doctor or a lab?
Absolutely. Our semen analysis is conducted in a CLIA-certified lab, ensuring the same clinical-grade accuracy as tests performed in traditional, in-person labs. The difference? With Hera, you can collect your sample in the comfort of your home—no awkward clinic visits or outdated magazines required.
How will I receive my results?
Results are returned within 1.5 business days of when we receive your sample at our lab. With overnight shipping, this means 2-3 days from when you drop your sample off at a Fedex Store.
Once your results are approved, we'll send you a secure link via email to view your report.
Is the test kit available everywhere?
Hera is available in most states within the continental United States. We do not currently offer testing in Alaska, Hawaii, or New York, and we can not ship to PO boxes.
Are Hera tests FDA-approved?
Great question! Hera’s kit uses FDA-cleared products and services to ensure the highest quality. The lab we use is CLIA-certified, which means we meet all federal requirements for providing doctors and patients with semen analysis results that can be used to make informed healthcare decisions.
Our lab is also COLA-accredited. COLA (the Commission on Office Laboratory Accreditation) is a private, physician-directed non-profit organization that helps labs meet the highest standards for quality and operate in compliance with federal and state regulatory requirements.
What is Protex?
ProteX is the first and only scientifically designed semen sample collection container that optimizes sperm quality by limiting damage caused by drastic temperature fluctuations, ROS generation, and uncontrolled pH shifts. The result gives patients a healthier sperm sample than they typically would have if collected in a generic specimen cup, which is not designed to protect collected sperm samples.
Since ProteX limits damage to sperm, patients get an accurate analysis of sperm count, motility rate, and other semen parameters as key components in the male fertility evaluation.

Quick and easy support between requesting the loan and getting the payment coordinated to our clinic. The payments to the associated bank have been very seamless and straightforward as well. The optional nurse support was nice although I already was covered with a thorough clinic. I would imagine this would be an added value for a busy numbers clinic like CNY where you might not get as much individual attention.
